OVERVIEW:
- Internal security is one of the hardest things to mitigate. The loss of data from stolen laptops and internal security breaches has shown the internal risk to be as big as that from outside an organization.
- The spotlight continues to focus on the public outcry for consumer data protection, the need to guard proprietary corporate information and other privacy regulations.
- One in three people write down their passwords on sticky notes. Employees share passwords. There is piggy backing on previous user logins because employees forget to log out. Most of this happens because employees don’t want to be inconvenienced with interrupted workflow.
- Organizations continue to struggle finding effective access control solutions that secure this information without adding expensive and time consuming procedures for both the user and IT staff. They also need a useful audit trail to really get to the bottom of the problem.
